Guest not redrawn after resume from saved state

This is with VB-3.1.8 on a Win7 64-bit host, with a Ubuntu-10.04 32-bit guest, guest additions, 3d acceleration enabled and compiz visual effects.

If I reboot the guest, then VB displays the desktop perfectly, regardless of the 3d acceleration setting and visual effects preferences.

If I resume from a saved state when the guest (a) has 3d acceleration enabled and (b) visual effects preferences are set to a level above "none", then the guest resumes in a black window. Moving the cursor around causes various parts of the guest desktop, menus, panes, widgets, etc., to be redrawn, presumably as those things are redisplayed by the guest.

Fixed in 3.2, wouldn't be backported to 3.1.8.

thanks, though i can't confirm the fix as the vm (and all my other linux vms) won't start with 3.2.0. (i had to go back to 3.1.8.)

i tried it with 3.2.4 and unfortunately it still does not work. i restarted my ubuntu vm, updated and rebooted, reinstalled the ga and rebooted. saving state and restoring still does not draw the desktop background.

No, when starting from save state with 3.2.6, it still does not draw the guest screen.

This should be fixed with VBox 4.3. Please give it a try and re-open if needed.
