Program not loading due to Direct3D error

Description
I tried starting a program and it gave me the error: "ERROR 165. D3D Device does not support backbuffer bit-depth and HW Acceleration". I went on googling,turning out to be Direct3D not installed. I installed it by following some tutorial,but still getting that error. I've checked dxdiag,d3d is enabled and so I checked it in the virtualbox options.
