6399,Ubuntu host system freezes when a 64-Bit VM is launched on ASUS N90SC -UZ024V,tankdriver,,"I use Ubuntu Karmic 64-bit on an ASUS N90SC -UZ024V Notebook PC.
The computer freezes immediately when ""VT-x/AMD-V"" is enabled and a VM is launched. (no kernel panic or something, Frozen till hard reset.)

{{{cat /proc/cpuinfo}}} shows me the ""vmx"" flag

{{{sudo rdmsr 0x3a}}} gives me ""5""

I can not provide a VBox.log file of a 64-Bit VM, because i did not found it.
I will attach A VBox.log file of a successful 32-Bit VM run.

Windows 7 (64-bit) was pre-installed on my ASUS. With Windows as VirtualBox host, everything works. I will attach a A VBox.log file of a successful 64-Bit VM run on a Win7 host.

This problem is very disappointing for me, because I especially selected this Notebook, because its very Ubuntu-compatible and it should be able to do VT-x.",defect,closed,other,VirtualBox 3.1.4,fixed,freeze VT-x,,other,Linux
