#5903 closed enhancement (wontfix)
Upon guest window close, add option to coninue running the guest headless

Description
It is often desirable to close the window of a guest VM, but leave it running in the background with the ability to reconnect to it later. The "Close Virtual Machine" popup would have an additional option "Run machine in background".
This additional functionality would be a compromise between the current behavior and that of VMware Server.

That's not going to happen as that requires a serious amount of work. In other words: not worth the effort.
If you want such behaviour, just run the VM in headless mode and use a local RDP client to connect to it. That will give you exactly what you want.

The vboxweb project (http://code.google.com/p/vboxweb/) gives you similar options. (work in progress though)
Second this suggestion. I think this also goes hand in hand with bug #5946, which is relating to having a daemon mode for vboxheadless.
Idealistically, I would like to take this both ways. VMs that are started headless, can be given a head (say from the GUI) and VMs that have a head (that were started from the GUI or CLI) to end the head, and remain running headless.
Worst case implementation of this would be a local teleport of the running system.
If this multifaceted approach to being able to switch between headless and headed systems is in place, I think that would also be of benefit to bug #5265.
