after 2 day the filesystem is in read/only

Description

On a CentOS 5.4 server with VirtualBox 3.1.2, after some day the filesystem go in read/only and is inpossibile write . the only solution is reboot the virtualmachine

Status: newclosed

It is most likely that the load for the physical hard disk at your host was very high, at least for some time. The result is that an IDE command of the guest took too many time to finish and the guest kernel decided to remount the (virtual) hard disk read-only. There is nothing we can do about this because the VM uses shared ressources (CPU, disk bandwith). Well, the problem appears to be much worse on some Mac OS X hosts. There is work going on to use a different API to access the host hard disk to weaken such problems.
