HTTPS website login does not work with virtio

Description
With my bridged adapter using virtio, I could not log in to my Google Account (I was trying to log in to Youtube). After I changed the adapter to use PCNet Fast III instead, I could log in.
Other sites worked, and the YouTube home page loaded, but the HTTPS login just hung and then stopped with a blank page, in Firefox.

I spoke too soon.
- This bug only happens sometimes, but does also still occur with PCNet Fast III. After the bug has started happening, it happens every time (in that guest session).
- It does not only affect HTTPS - it also affects editing Wikipedia pages. So it looks like guest -> Internet transmission is not working properly.
