Description (last modified by )
Appart from allowing the use of VDI, VMDK and Virtual PC images, why don't give direct support for the use of RAW images (like qemu haves)?
I know I can convert RAW images to VDI, but for people like me who want to mount the disk image on their host, is far easier to do with a RAW image that with another format.
Thanks.

You can use the command to create a raw VMDK file and pass the raw image instead of a real physical disk to make it work without converting the image. Closing.

If you want such a solution, you could go for fixed size VMDK files. They have the raw image data in a separate file, while still having a way to store vital information (like the hard disk geometry).
This is not the normal use case - mounting disks is pretty tricky.
