Disk read error after upgrade to 3.0.12

Description

Today I upgraded my vbox 3.0.10 to 3.0.12. After upgrade my virtual machine fails to start, giving me "Disk read error occured". After downgrade machine works fine. I'm attaching log file and vmdk config.

Status: newclosed

This was a bug in VirtualBox earlier than 3.0.12 - it created incorrect vmdk descriptor files in this case. The easy fix for this is to edit VPN.vmdk, and delete the number at the end of each line starting with "RW" (if applicable).

That bug is fixed, however it's not so easy to fix existing files...

Since this is a bug in earlier VirtualBox versions, there is nothing to do.

Yes, that solved the problem. Machine works again.
