Large number of Segfaults in VBoxSVC

Description

I have started getting a serious number of segfaults from VBoxSVC on a RHEL5.4 (x86_64) running version 3.0.10 of VBox. The segfaults happened now and then with 3.0.4 but they are happening at greater occurrence in 3.0.10. Errors are happening from a automated management script which is generally running a list vms command or a showvminfo command.

Example segfaults.

Sometimes the output of VBoxManage list vms generates the output "ERROR: 0 bytes read from child process" after the logo output and before listing the vms which may be related. No VMs are running at that time so no VBox.log files.

A VBox.log file of such a session is missing. If you could provide a  core dump this would help us debugging. If you can provide one, please contact me via frank _dot_ mehnert _at_ sun _dot_ com, then I can tell you a server for the upload.

I have enabled coredumps but as of yet none have been generated. I will update this ticket once I can get one out. As I said there are no VMs running just VBoxManage doing some queries which are triggering the crash.

Could you check if VBox 3.1.6 fixes your problem by chance?
