error to iniciate VM under windows 2000 host with linux guest

I try to use a linux VM under my windows 2000 sp4 and get this error:

Unknown error creating VM. VBox status code: -257 (VERR_IO_GEN_FAILURE).

Código do Resultado: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Componente: Console Interface: IConsole {1dea5c4b-0753-4193-b909-22330f64ec45}

Somewere else get this error? Some I fix this?

1. Linux VMs work here. (too generic term)

2. Windows host 2000 support dropped, so bug lost relevance.

orfeu80: If you still experience issues, upgrade VBox to latest (3.1.x) and host OS, and attach VBox log.

VBox team: I reocmmend closing as invalid/too old.
