Manually copying a filename (in this case, an .iso file) into the filename box and clicking Open successfully adds the file.

My system is an Acer Aspire 4230 laptop running !VirtualBox 3.0.8 r53138 under Kubuntu 9.04 as host, with a Windows XP guest.
