Does this happen even before you run any VMs? (i.e. from the GUI)? Could you please provide more info. when you noticed this?

System reports this but I believe it is a 64bit hosts.

SunOS opensolaris 5.11 snv_126 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris

Happens before running any VBox Guests, looking at it viz GUI interface, and running top.

Do you have the VirtualBox GUI open when this happens?

Why is VboxSVC and VBoxXPCOMIPCD hanging about without any VM? Did you launch them manually? This could be a bug with VBoxSVC not terminating. Does killing VBoxSVC help reduce hald CPU usage?

Well I updated my Boot admin to SunOS opensolaris 5.11 snv_127 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris yesterday and restarted the box there was an update to the SUNWhal package....

Seems to have fixed it.

I noticed 3.12 Vbox is out will update that later today.
