After the 1st boot, when the installer was ""Installing devices..."", a BSOD appeared saying ""A process or thread cruicial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated."" with the following ""Technical information"": *** STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFADFF21F6C20, 0xFFFFFADFF32F6E88, 0xFFFFF800013c5820) After managing to complete the installation (reset the VM everytime the BSOD occurs), the screen/display of guest OS would become corrupted/garbled & the guest hangs (indefinitely) at random periods of time. The host CPU usage is very high (reaching 100%) when this happens. I had to put the VM on pause in order to gain control of my host machine. Installing the Guest Additions doesn't help. The peculiar thing is, when I changed the # of processors offered by the VM to the guest OS to 1 & booted the very same guest, the screen corruption & hang problem seems to vanish. On the other hand, my Win XP Pro x86 (32 bit) Guest works fine with the VM in SMP mode! So, my conclusion is that the problem only surfaces when the guest is a 64 bit OS & VM is in SMP mode.
