Guest Additions 3.0.6 breaks Windows display resolutions

Description (last modified by )
I have two VMs running on a Linux (pure 64bits) host:
- Windows XP (SP3)
- Windows 7 64bits
In both cases, after I install guest additions from VBox 3.0.6 I have display problems. On my WinXP VM I can't go beyond 800x600 (in this case i get stuck with 4bits colors). On Win7 VM I get stuck on 800x600 resolution only.
Uninstaling Guest Additions allows me to change the resolution the way I want, but then the mouse behaves weird (of course, because of the missing guest addition driver).
I didn't have these display problems before vbox 3.0.6.

Hi all.
I-ve got the same problem.
My info: Acer Aspire One Netbook, 1.5 GB Ram, 60 GB HD, Atom 1.6 Ghz Base system Ubuntu 9.04 VirtualBox 3.0.6
I installed a VM with Windows XP 2002 Version Service Pack 2
By default it stats at 800x600x32 bit resolution.
Then I installed Gest Additions, restarted VM and the first time It works fine, 1024x600x32 bit resolution full screen.
But when I restart again or shutdown VM, next time I start the screen resolution goes down to 800x600x4 bit and I have no option to increase it.
I tried to take a snapshot and start with it, but it didn't works
I attached the four vbox.log files I found.
Thanks in advance.

As it was asked, I attached 4 logs. The newest (VBox-ken.log.1 and VBox-ken.log) are, respectively, from before reinstalling VBoxAdditions and after reinstalling it today.

Which was the previous version of VBox which worked for you? VBox 3.0.4?

I am not pretty sure, but I think VBox 3.0.4 worked well (the VBox Additions). If it is possible... I can revert to that version and see what happens

Please attach VBox.log file of the VM with 3.0.6 additions installed.
