Very slow upload speeds

Description
I have a problem with VirtualBox 1.4.0 running on a x86_64 SuSE 10.2 (Athlon64 3000) with an Windows XP Home guest with NAT networking. The application I am using is Google's Picasa.
The upload speed is very slow when I upload images to a web gallery. Without measuring it exactly it is 5 times slower than on a native Windows.
Maybe it is related to Bug #83.
