Ticket #4284 (closed defect: fixed)
"VirtualBox Interface has stopped working" on discarding a snapshot => fixed in svn
|Reported by:||romkyns||Owned by:|
Host is Vista x64 Enterprise, guest is Vista x32 Enterprise.
I have a .vhd drive with multiple snapshots. When discarding (merging) the last snapshot into its parent (via the "Discard Snapshot" menu in the GUI), I get this error:
"VirtualBox Interface has stopped working" Application Name: VBoxSVC.exe Fault Module Name: VBoxRT.dll (full details attached)
The GUI stays up, showing the machine as "Discarding" state.
If I then shut down the GUI and manually remove the reference to the differencing .vhd from VirtualBox.xml that no longer exists, then I can run the VM again and observe that the merge was actually successful, preserving both the disk and the current state.
This happens every time I attempt to discard the latest snapshot, and every time I can manually fix up the .xml file to fix things up.
- Summary changed from "VirtualBox Interface has stopped working" on discarding a snapshot to "VirtualBox Interface has stopped working" on discarding a snapshot => fixed in svn
