Version 2.2.2 of VirtualBox fails install and removes USB proxy

Description
My host is a windows Vista Ultimate x64 machine. I an running V2.2.0 R45846 of VirtualBox. I downloaded and installed VirtualBox-2.2.2-46594-Win.exe. It failed halway through and rolled back reporting an error had occurred. It did not say what the error was. I then opened VirtualBox and clicked on the settings tab of one of my VMs and it reported that it could not find the USB proxy. I ran file of my old version (2.2.0 R45846) and executed a repair - all fixed. On re-trying the installation I examined the custom options and noted that the second component (dealing with USB) had zero bytes allocated. It looks like a whole section has been missed.
How could this have passed even rudimentary testing??????????

Uninstalling VBox 2.2 and thgen installing the 2.2.2 version should fix the issue.
