Virtual boxs crashing on shutdowns and starts ups crashing loosing keyboard

When I try to open a virtual box that I've used and then shut down, it won't open again and crashes leaving me to restart my computer to make it function again. I also am experiencing crashes on shutdown of boxes like of windows server 2003 where they will still say they are running but when I go to manually turn them off after reasonable amount of time, the boxes crash .

End result also makes keyboard buttons not function both inside and outside of virtual box.

Just a note that I find 2.2.2 has a chance of crashing on restart of a virtual box from inside virtual image.
