Description
I am using kubuntu Feisty as the host system and have created two VMs, Win XP and PCLinuxOS 2007. At seemingly random times when I am either opening or closing (saving) a VM the OS freezes completely, Host and Guest! I cannot restart X, nothing works at all forcing me to do a hard reboot. Not pretty. The VMs work fine when in use with no trouble and I can open close several times until the next freeze. This occurred with 1.3.8 as well but I have only started with Vbox two days ago and upgraded to 1.4.0 this morning hoping this was resolved.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can attach. I am relatively new to Linux (experienced Windows user switching over).

Retry with 1.5.0 and reopen if it still happens.
Have you made any changes to the default Feisty setup? I am using Kubuntu Feisty as my development system and have not seen anything like this yet. Could you try doing a memory test on your host system? Kubuntu has memtest86 as one of the boot options in grub, ideally you should let it run for several hours or overnight.
You might also post information about your hardware, and if you can find a reliable way to reproduce the hang it would of course help us greatly.
