Virtualbox exits attempting to play sound

Description
Virtualbox seems to assert out when attempting to play multiple audio streams in a windows XP session. The most reliable way to reproduce this is:
1) have a long playing audio running (and mp3 for example). 2) attach to a usb device. About the time you normally hear the audio USB connect cue, Virtualbox will disappear.
I get a "solaudio: AUDIO_GETINFO ioctl failed" in the log, but a quick look through the source doesn't yield any obvious asserts from where it is generated.
