Saving machine state fails

Description
I have a windows XP guest. Saving state used to work fine for a long time. But I can't pinpoint exactly when it stopped working. Updating to 2.1.2 didn't fix it for sure.
See the log where it says it fails to power on.
To be precise; saving the state seems to work, it says saved. But when powering up it goes up to the 100% but then immediately 'aborts'.

Important appendix: this only occurs when in I was in seamless mode when I saved state!
