All the above is the result of upgrading. Host Win XP SP3. The original was VBOX 2.0.6 ugraded to 2.10 and that upgraded to 2.1.2.

The final result of the above upgrade was: Guest Slackware 12.2 - ctrl-alt-bckspace or any other exit from KDE 3.5.10 resulted in VBOX guest crash.

Guest WinXP SP2 and sp3 and Linux Slackware 12.2. NAT delivers IP address to the net card, but no network traffic is possible.

The solution was simple as possible: Uninstall VirtualBox from Host and REMOVE ALL traces of it from installation and registry in Windows. That is COMPLETE remove from host. Reboot host and do fresh install of VBOX on host. Then use preiously installed guest. All works again.

The LESSION: Do NOT use upgrade feature of VBOX, instead delete and fresh install a new version on host.

Regards to developers of VBOX, it is excellent (except upgrade feature)!
