Description
I had MS Virtual PC 2007 and created 3 guests VMs. Then I heard about Sun xVM VirtualBox. I unstalled the MS VPC 2007 and installed a fresh Sun VB v2.1.x (latest version) on my Vista 32bit box. I tried to add the guest vm files using virtual media manager gui and I get the following errors in all of them:
Could not open the hard disk 'C:\vm\win2003.vhd' VDI: invalid pre-header in C:\vm\win2003.vhd' (VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_SIGNATURE). VD: error opening image file 'C:\vm\win2003.vhd' (VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_SIGNATURE). Result COde: E_FAIL (0x80004005) Component: HardDisk2 Interface: IHardDisk2 {ed6e2525-c2fd-42a4-917a-7a9045ac9e15}. Callee: IVirtualBox {339abca2-f47a-4302-87f5-7bc324e6bbde}
I do get the same error code opening any of the 3 guest VM that was created in MSVPC 2007. However I've noticed I can easily open VMDK files fine.
Should be fixed some time ago. Please reopen if you still have problems with VirtualBox 2.2.4.
