I suppose doing the following settings of VirtualBox make FreeBSD7 work.

  1. enable USB device
  2. select "Intel PRO/1000 T Server" network card

My env: Host -- Windows Vista 32 VB -- 2.1.0 Guest -- FreeBSD 7.1

Host: Ubuntu 8.10 - AMD Sempron 2400 32-bit. Guest: FreeBSD 7.1, configured with 512 MB of RAM.

Crashes during boot, with Assertion Failed message. Tried with ACPI enabled/disabled and PAE/NX extensions, to no avail.

Log FreeBSD-2009-01-07-23-24-55.log attached.
