Description (last modified by )
Hello, I have ubuntu 8.10 host with VirtualBox 2.04 and Windows XP as guest. I have a printer all-in-one (Canon MPC190) and I'm trying to get it to work in Windows XP. I already got usb to work in VirtualBox and installed the Canon drivers in Windows XP. The printer part works well.
The scanner "seems" to work but, when I try to scan something, the scanner start scanning and Windows XP doesn't wait until the scanning end. After 1-2 seconds it immediately shows a blank page. In the meantime the scanner continues to scan and stops nearly the end of the page. After 1-2 minutes it returns to the left location (maybe after a timeout).
It looks like something is going wrong with handshaking: scanner continue to scan but Windows thought it has finished. Then Windows stops talking with the scanner (maybe it thinks to have already received the full page scan) so the scanner get a timeout after a few minutes.
Any ideas?
Best regards, Romano

Please reopen if still relevant with a recent VirtualBox release.
Additional information: using VmWare server 2.0 it works perfectly.
