Failed to install in Ubuntu 6.10

Description
I downloaded VirtualBox for Ubuntu 6.10. The pakage install stopped and stay freezed and from that moment I can not install or update my Ubuntu machine. It looks like it is Ubuntu problem but as it happen wile installing VirtualBox Maybe the problem has to do with VirtualBox. The window that comes after update failed tell's me that it have to uninstall VirtualBox but do not found the archive and that I have internal error opening cache (1) Please report I will look for help in Ubuntu but will not install VirtualBox before I have it clear.

The link worked for me but only to make apt-get and update work normaly. If some one will make me clear how to install VritualBox in Ubuntu without problems then I will try again. Thanks a lot.

Seems like a Ubuntu problem to me. You can use the binaries on our site instead.
I was looking for help and I see that I am not the only one. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2329624
I did not resolve the problem yet. I will keep looking for the solution.
