Crash when unplugging host screen (USB-C)

Description

Hi,

Virtualbox crashes when unplugging an USB screen. Steps to reproduce:

  • VBox 6.1.42 or 7.0.6 on Windows 11
  • VM in full screen on external USB-C monitor
  • unplug external monitor

Hi,

This seems to be somehow related to HDR:

  1. If HDR is disabled on the external screen, moving the VM to the internal screen before unplugging the monitor prevents the crash
  2. If HDR is enabled on the external screen, the VM crashes even when on the external monitor is unplugged, even if it is on the internal window.

However, even if HDR is disabled on both screens, the behavior is the same as 2.

Hi,

Upgraded to 7.0.8, the issue is the same with the 7.0 series.

Adding crash log.

Hi, Same problem here, To avoid VM Crash, i had to enable the Windows OS fonction that reduce windows on when a screen is unplug. With this tip, no more problem.
