Same thing happened to me: freeze within a few minutes after startup and 100% CPU. What worked for me was one of the following:

  • Delete/rename of .VirtualBox directory in your home and re-adding the win11 vm
  • Enabling 3d acceleration for the VM and setting the video memory to 256MB

Not sure which one of these two worked for me, but now it does not freeze with 100% CPU anymore.

This was a fresh win11 pro VM with the default settings from the wizard. Not sure why the wizard does not enable 3D accel, but maybe give it a try.

""Enabling 3d acceleration for the VM and setting the video memory to 256MB"" Worked for me. Thanks,

Enabling 3D acceleration is not viable because the OS UI is messed up (in W11). In fact, I turned on 3DA and then tried to reinstall GA to see if it would fix the UI, but the VM just poof! crashed and disappeared. I restarted the VM and still UI is busted.
