Better management of VMs, Disks and Snapshots in GUI

There are many features available in VirtualBox that are not present in the GUI. Although some of them are of advanced nature, others are very basic functionality that should be present for a long time.

I have been awaiting for these features since my first use in 1.4 and I really thought version 2.0 with the QT4 GUI would address them.

The features that I really miss in the GUI are:

• Register/Unregister an Existing VM
  
• Register a Disk as Writethrough
  
• Compact a VDI (show an Alert pointing to the manual section on the first time, talking about defrag, nullfile, etc)
  
• Take snapshot of a VM with a Writethrough disk (just ignore the disks instead of giving a fatal error, like VMWare)

I already created a ticket for registering a existing vm: ​http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/118

It is not providing other mentioned options, but in my opinion, all those options should be in seperate feature requests so they can be handled individually.
