Description
Hello, I was using a virtual machine when i accidentally dragged a link inside the virtual machine. The virtual machine got aborted by virtualbox. it also gave a memory read error. I think the reason why it gave that error is because virtualbox is not checking if what the user drags inside of the virtual machine is a file or directory so it tries to read it then because it is not a file it gives a read error. So i would suggest you guys let virtualbox check if what the user drags inside the virtual machine is a file or directory. So i would like to report this issue to help improve virtualbox. If i could contribute through code it would a dream. If you look above you can see the virtual machine has been terminated or aborted.
This is happening to me when dragging from a Win10 guest to a Linux host. The VBox log gives no details, other than repeating an "aborted" message 3 times:
18:47:33.886781 VMMDev: Guest Log: DnD: Drag and drop operation aborted
18:47:34.893854 VMMDev: Guest Log: DnD: Drag and drop operation aborted
18:47:35.887600 VMMDev: Guest Log: DnD: Drag and drop operation aborted
For my crashes, it only happens when I accidentally drag an object that can't be dropped, such as a scroll bar or window title bar. If I D&D a drop-able object, such as a file, it does not crash, and the dropped object gets correctly copied to the host.
