Ie. this environment variable will be also missing on any modern Linux distro without systemd support, and there are some. 25 25 26 Migh ruse WAYLAND_DISPLAY and DISPLAY instead of XDG_SESSION_TYPE.26 Might use WAYLAND_DISPLAY and DISPLAY instead of XDG_SESSION_TYPE. 27 27 28 28 XDG_SESSION_TYPE is a non-standard part of systemd, and not set if you run a compositor from the command line, for instance.
