#1940 closed defect (obsolete)
USB scanner fails to scan when invoked through VRDP
Reported by: | ipna | Owned by: | |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | RDP | Version: | VirtualBox 1.6.4 |
Keywords: | USB VRDP Scanner VBoxHeadless | Cc: | |
Guest type: | Windows | Host type: | Linux |
Description (last modified by )
Hardware/Software:
- HP Scanjet G4050 (USB scanner)
- Windows XP Pro (guest)
- Linux Mint/Ubuntu (host)
The scanner works fine when I install both guest and host in the same machine and the scanner is attached to a local USB port. But when I keep the scanner attached to the same machine and install both guest and host in a remote machine (VBoxHeadless), and try to forward the USB connection via rdesktop-vrdp, the scanning process renders a corrupted image (the scanner lamp moves slowly and hard).
