Description
Windows 7 guest audio ceases to function after host display is suspended if audio input is disabled for guest. The display is connected via HDMI interface. Sound in host is working without any issues. Issue is present at least since VB version 6.0 but possibly longer. Workaround is the enable audio input for guest. Related forum topic here

The guest audio ceased working without related display suspend (this is very rare). Guru mediation dialog appeared after guest restart (before guest OS boot). After closing guru mediation dialog, the host had a BSOD (first BSOD ever for this computer). Log from guest session attached (VBox2.zip). Host minidump (W10) can be provided privately if necessary.
