Chaotic behaviour of mouse pointer since VB 6.06 -> duplicate of #18567

Reported by: blubber Owned by:
Component: VM control Version: VirtualBox 6.0.6

Description

With the 6.06 update the mouse pointer in the virtual machine starts to behave in a chaotic manner. Shows a strong tendency to move autonomously towards the upper left corner of the screen and thereafter generates several autonomous left mouse button clicks. Behavior persists for some seconds, then falls back to normal for some 30 sec and starts over again. Almost impossible to navigate properly. -> please fix.

Guest is Android x86 project version 8.1-r1.

Duplicate of #18567.

That sounds awfully close to #18567 and its corresponding thread in the forums: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=92742

I have the suspicion that it's a 2 or more monitor configuration issue. Please go to the forums and read the thread...

It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums, a lot more eyes there. More than 95% of the issues are resolved in the forums, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is most probably a duplicate and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Duplicate".

Plus a discussion and analysis on the bug tracker is going to help me, you, and potentially a future drive-by user or two. Not so in the forums, many more tend to benefit...

Not exactly the same behavior, but close indeed. In my case, the mouse acts autonomously without any input. However, if able to set an input on the user side, the mouse behaves correctly. Maybe the same source of problem...?

No, not in my case since I do not use a dual monitor setting.

Ok, thanks for your comment on that.
