VirtualBox aborts when switching to virtual terminal

I am running Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.1 x64 as host. My guest is Kali Linux 10.04. When switching to virtual terminal from graphical and back virtual box aborts every time.

1. Start VirtualBox Gust
2. Switch to virtual terminal Ctrl+Alt+F1
3. Switch back to desktop Ctrl+Alt+F7

1. It's usually better and faster, if issues get first addressed in the ​VirtualBox forums, a lot more eyes there. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of.

2. You were supposed to follow these steps when you filed the bug, and provide a VBox.log:

   Attach a (full) log file ("Machine" menu/"Show Log" in the main VirtualBox Manager window) straight away to save time for you and for us. The log file contains a lot of useful information about both the host and the guest systems as well as information about what happened during a particular machine run. Please do not cut and paste it.
   

So, if you can, please open a new thread in the ​Linux Guests section of the forums. Please be sure to mention that you came from the bug tracker and include the ticket number.

Sure thing. Just a note. Over the weekend I updated my host and Kali (guest) and not I was not able to recreate it. Since I removed logs before reading this (I did tar.gz as backup of my guest) I lost the logs. When I can recreate it I will follow your instructions.
