VM Audio appears distorted

Description
I have a win10 VM running in a Win7 system. I've activated the audio dump file and it appears distorted in the host also. I've produced the sound by clicking on the volume slide bar and by minimizing skype window.

I've been having the same issue for quite a while starting with at least version 5.2. I'm on a Windows 10 host, but my guest is Windows 10 as well. I've had the problem with both single and dual monitors configured in the guest. I do not recall having the problem when my guest was Windows 7, but there is only one year of support left for Windows 7 from Microsoft.
