100% cpu usage when doing nothing on Macbook pro OSX duo dual (os is opensolatis 2008.05) — at Initial Version

Description
virtual box 1.6.2 on Mac book pro (latest update), dual core duo processor. opensolaris 2008.05 installed and upgraded to build 90.
when opensolaris is booted in the vm (and then does nothing), virtualbox process takes almost 100% of a CPU.
I've seen many other reports, talking about a few workarounds including processor affinity but I can't control affinity on mac.
So bottom line, virtualbox/opensolaris on mac in not usable at all.
