Please post a complete log from a complete VM run:

  • Follow a "start the VM from cold-boot" / "observe error" / "shutdown the VM" cycle.
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response.
  • You were supposed to follow these steps when you filed the bug:

Attach a (full) log file ("Machine" menu/"Show Log" in the main VirtualBox Manager window) straight away to save time for you and for us. The log file contains a lot of useful information about both the host and the guest systems as well as information about what happened during a particular machine run. Please do not cut and paste it.

Sorry about forgetting that :-)

Yoda, there's a related (maybe) discussion about RAID in the last couple of days in the forums: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=87624

CentOS host in the forums' case, but they're close enough. See if they're related... I have a feeling that they are.

Yes, looks like same problem - nice to see he is using linux guest - tells me it is not much guest related

Maybe there is a link to this bug. I have many problems with high I/O since v5.2.X https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/10031

I does indeed seem to be related, although I get a crash instead of some file corruption. I will take a look at the suggested workarounds.

Is this still an issue, with more recent releases of the operating system(s), with VirtualBox 6.1.18?
