OSX: Full screen doesn't play nicely with Spaces

One very useful feature of VMware Fusion is that I can drag VMs around between Spaces (after pressing F8, the Spaces shortcut) even when they're running in full screen mode.
Pressing F8 with when VBox is running just causes its full screen VMs to disappear from view altogether. This is bad form even if you're not going to let users drag VMs around.
