4.15-rc8? That's as new as they come, isn't it?

If you want to use the latest version for your host/guests, you should also consider doing the same for VirtualBox. As of this writing, that would be version 5.2.4. If that doesn't work you should try the latest test buildsl, especially with all the Spectre/Meltdown patches coming in from all sides.

modules from Testbuild VirtualBox-5.2.5-120181-Linux_amd64 compile with kernel 4.15-rc8.

joeAverage, is this still the case with the newly released 5.2.6? Not that I expect it won't, just so that the ticket is up to date with the latest release.

modules for VirtualBox-5.2-5.2.6_120293_fedora26-1.x86_64.rpm build fine for

  • vanilla 4.14.14 and
  • 4.15-rc8

Hint: I'm running a Windoof 7 guest on bare metal
