OK, let the developers close #17437 as a "Duplicate", and I'm going to be posting the following only on this ticket.

It's usually better and faster, if issues like this one get first addressed in the VirtualBox forums. More than 95% of the issues are resolved over there, which keeps the developers focusing on the bug fixes and enhancements, and there is no need for another ticket to keep track of. For example, yours is most probably not a bug and someone from the developers has to deal with it and close it as "Invalid".

So, if you can, please open a new thread in the VirtualBox on Mac OS X Hosts section of the forums. Please be sure to mention that you came from the bug tracker and include the ticket number.

And since you're going to be asked, please provide the output of the command:

kextstat | grep -v com.apple

But, please do it in the forums...

Thank you for the post in the forums: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=86184

Let's continue the discussion there. I've already started ;)

Thanks for the update. I guess the ticket can be closed as "WorksForMe" or "Invalid", as this is clearly Apple's fault.

For future searchers, the fix is provided in Apple's Technical Note TN2459. Something that they should already have addressed, but...
