Broken WM_CLASS for X11 hosts -> fixed in 5.2.4

After upgrading VirtualBox to VirtualBox-5.2-5.2.2_119230_fedora26-1.x86_64 (Fedora 26, KDE5, X11) I've found that windows are not related to .desktop file anymore. This breaks custom icons, pinning to taskbars, docks and so on. It can be easily fixed with adding

StartupWMClass=VirtualBox Manager

to the end of [Desktop Entry] section in virtualbox.desktop file

unfortunately this broke my setup. Now I have for every single VM an icon in the left favorite bar of my gnome-shell. This leads the fav bar to be useless due the more icons appear, the icons gettin more and more tiny. There is no grouping of the icons under the icon of Vbox-Manager(I have a vbox-manage icon added to the fav list) Another point is that I cannot get the fav bar visible when I move the mouse to the upper left corner when a vm is in front(selected). I have to choose another window(like terminal) in front to have the usual behavior again. This is really annoying.

OS: Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit (up to date) gnome-shell: 3.10.4 vbox: 5.2.2 r119230 (Qt5.6.1)

kind regards
