v1 v2 5 5 Kernel versions prior to 2.6.31 do not provide a default handler for (splice_read / sendfile) and will return an error if sendfile is used. That kernel is now 8 years old. Linux Kernel 2.6.32 was an LTS release for which support ended in February 2016.
