Windows Guest hangs when accessing shared folder

Description

On my Arch Linux Host I have shared my home directory with my Windows 7 Guest. When accessing the share in Windows, it can happen that a I/O operation blocks and never finishes. This happens when browsing directories in the Windows Explorer, or when saving a document on the share, or any other I/O operation on the shared folder. I can reproduce this quite easily, e.g. when I browse a folder with a deep directory structure.

When this happens, Windows continues work, but any subsequent access to the share folder will instantly block and never return. Windows cannot shut down in this case, I have to hard reset the VM.

Any help is appreciated.

You have to install latest Guest Additions (5.1.26). The guest still has the old version 5.1.6, which is known to have the bug.

From your log:

00:00:06.058583 VMMDev: Guest Additions information report: Version 5.1.6 r110634 '5.1.6'
