Reported by: Sizy458 Owned by:
Component: other Version: VirtualBox 5.1.22
Keywords: network, freeze Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Windows

Description

I have a version of VirtualBox 4.3.38 installed on my Debian, runs, and I keep this version ! Why ? I installed a version 5.3.1 on a Windows Seven machine, version strongly discouraged! I will join the logs because the guest machine freeze! Especially when I add the network card from menu Configuration-> NAT network or bridge, then systematically blocks the FREEZE guest machine! I keep version 4.3.38. I join the log! I have AVG and spyHunter installed on the Windows machine. I TRY DISABLED SERVICE SPYHUNTER AND AVG THEN FREEZE ALWAYS

Product not tested.

FINALLY, There is a bug only if guest machine start with "network cable" (Cable branché) disabled.

When the guest machine freeze and then i enable "network cable" (Cable branché) then the guest machine UNFREEZE, work now.

Please stop with writing phrases like strongly not recommended or not tested without providing any prove.

Which of your provided log files show a frozen VM? All of the log files you provided show that the VM was powered off. In /with network/VBox.log.1 and /with network/VBox.log I see that the VM was powered off but apparently the VM was powered off without shutting down the guest. So are you refering to these two log files?

So the guest freezes but the VM can still be powered off, is that correct?

Please provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce this problem. For example, you are talking about "enabling the network cable". So is the virtual network cable disconnected when you boot the VM?
