| 1 | | I found out that if I install the latest box (5.2.16), use that to successfully install the guest additions on my xubuntu 18.04 guest (which fails in previous versions of virtual box), and then revert to virtual box 5.0.40 - then vm still seem to work fine and the UI performance is a lot closer to acceptable.
