#16380 new defect

Mouse pointer disappears after VM resume

Reported by: mpfj Owned by:
Component: guest additions/x11/graphics Version: VirtualBox 5.1.12
Keywords: mouse cursor pointer disappear invisible resume suspend Cc:
Guest type: Linux Host type: Linux

Description

When I resume my Linux VM, the mouse cursor is never visible when moved into the VM window.

The mouse appears to be working correctly, as I can see icons / menus become "highlighted" when I move the mouse around.

And mouse clicks also work as expected.

It's just that the cursor itself is invisible !!

This issue is never present when starting the VM from scratch.
It *only* happens when starting from a suspend.

Host : Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (64bit)
Guest : Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (64bit)

Both host and guest are fully up-to-date.

FYI, on the VM, if I log out and back in again (with out restarting the VM), the issue fixes itself.

Still broken in Version 5.1.14 r112924 :(

And the "log out, log in" no longer seems to fix the problem.
