VBox should unmount Guest additions iso-file after install — at Version 3

Description (last modified by )
We are using Linux host and Windows XP guest. When installing the guest additions and not explicitely unmounting them after the install, the iso-file remains registered and mounted.
When making later an update of vbox in a different installation dir, the old iso-file is missing and vbox refuses to start.

That's a strange request. How should we know when the right time is to unmount it?
Without understanding enough of your callback mechanisms from guest to host I cannot answer this question.
Instead VBox shouldn't refuse to start if the ISO can't be mounted.
That would be even better because the problem not only happens with the additions-iso but also with other mounted volumes. In "real" windows it is always possible to remove a CD from the drive (with or without reboot) and windows continues to work.
