after restoring guest XP guest Bugcheck KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)

Reported by: oracle_email_with_a_plus_sign Owned by:
Component: guest smp Version: VirtualBox 5.1.8
Keywords: Cc:
Guest type: Windows Host type: Windows

Description

The guest runs fine, the problem only happens after restoring a saved state. The Bluescreen appears only in VBox 5.1 (not in version 5.0) for me and only when AMD-V is enabled.

The CPU is AMD Phenom II X4 965
Host OS: Win7 x64
Guest OS: WinXP 32bit I/O APIC enabled / PAE setting has no effect

Here is the Bugcheck: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
EXCEPTION_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc000001d - {EXCEPTION} Illegal Instruction An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.

Attached are two minidumps of the guest os. The crash is reproducible every time. Please let me know if you need any more information.

The crash still happens with VBox 5.2.6 and the updated guest additions.

These are the Bugcheck parameters:

BCCode : 1000008e BCP1 : C000001D BCP2 : 806D3CB8 BCP3 : 80549D34
BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 256_1

The crash goes away when Paravirtualization=none and AMD-V=disabled. But then it is quite slow.
