Description
The issue tracking system for VirtualBox is very hard to use.
For some reason it logs me off before I can type enough text to describe a problem.
Also it does not allow changing the issue properties once the issue is reported. Things like version or summary are fixed.

Hmm, I never got similar reports from other users. Are you sure that you don't close the browser window at which you logged in? As long as you keep that window open you should remain logged in.

No, I don't close the window. I would not be able to type into it then.
And I can't see how being logged in may possibly depend on having a window open unless the site does something very dodgy.
Thanks

What I was trying to say is the following: The first time you want to type anything into the bugtracker you have to be logged in. After this you type your text and finally press the 'Submit changes' button below. If you close this window then, you will have to re-login the next time you want to enter a comment. If you leave this window open, you will be able to post more comments without logging in again. Sorry but I want to be completely sure that we are talking about the same thing.

Opening and closing windows is completely unrelated to being logged in or not.
I logged in, added the comment, closed the window, reopened it, and still was logged in.
Then I read your comment in email, reloaded the page, and now I am not logged in.
The same happens when I am writing a long comment - when it's finished, and I press Submit Changes I am no longer logged in.
Thanks

This depends on your browser. I'm using konqueror here and as soon as I close the last konqueror window which points to virtualbox.org I'm not logged in anymore. I assume that the browser drops the cookie as soon as the last page to the site is closed.
We improved some things. Please check if you are still experience problems reporting bugs. Most properties of a ticket are fixed as normally Sun staff members change them after revisiting the comments.
